Family Caregiving Program

This special program provides financial and supportive services for family and non-family caregivers. Structured Caregiving empowers caregivers to care for seniors and those with disabilities who wish to remain at home, or in the home the caregiver, rather residing in a nursing home. This program is currently available in Indiana only.

How cool that a family member or friend, who resides with you or willing to reside or willing to move their senior loved one in their home, can earn up to a $1,000 or more monthly, tax-free income for assisting in their loved one’s care! This helps keep Our Loved Ones at home as long as safely possible.

This opportunity is perfect for college student! No more Work-Study, stay home and care for your loved one!

How can I qualify for Paid Family Caregiving?

The primary caregiver must meet the following:

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Can be the spouse, relative or friend, but cannot be the legal guardian of the individual needing care.

Can be the spouse, relative, friend, or guardian but the guardian cannot be the parent of a minor child in the home.

Must reside with the individual requiring care or the individual can reside with you in your home.

Help supply the Love, Respect, AND Honor your Loved One needs and deserves to live a dignified senior life.

The individual needing the care must meet the following:

Be an Older Adult or Individual with Disabilities who: 

At least 18 years of age, and

Be eligible for Aged and Disabled or Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver.

We can assist you or your loved one apply for these waiver benefits.

Must be Eligible for Medicaid

We can assist you or your loved one apply for Medicaid benefits.

To qualify for Medicaid benefits, you must meet certain eligibility requirements and if eligible Medicaid directly pays your doctor, hospital, nursing home and other medical providers.

Must require help with three or more
Activities of Daily Living, such as:

  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Eating
  • Grooming
  • Home and Support Assistance
  • Transferring & help in/out of bed
  • Toileting
  • Walking

Reside in the State of Indiana

We serve Indiana's Lake, LaPorte, Porter, and St. Joseph Counties.

Even if you do not live in our service area, we can direct you to your local Indiana Area on Aging to find a Structured Family Caregiving agency near you.
